Any super comfortable shoes you've found for shooting on location (paved/unpaved/dirt)? I just took part in my first 24 hour film challenge at school, and we're gonna be having one every quarter. I'd like to be a little more comfortable next time.

I wear Adidas Sambas typically. Sometimes I wear my motorcycle boots if we’re going to be stomping around in a tough terrain. Foot comfort is so important on set, I cannot stress that enough. Wear comfy socks and make sure you have proper insoles. You can always buy cushy insoles for your shoes if need be.

Notes

  1. antirobotics said: Blundstones, the suede brown ones with the steel toe. They are CSA approved here in Canada which qualifies them for most union jobs that require steel toed boots, with kevlar bottoms. Super comfy, and stylin.

OMG IT'S A FILM PRODUCTION BLOG

Assistant Directors don't always yell. Sometimes we write about stuff. Because I'm a workaholic, I sometimes feel the need to document the things I see and the questions that are raised while going through the most insane process of making a director's dreams come true. About me: My name is Michelle. I am a (currently) non-union First Assistant Director working out of Austin, TX. I hope to one day join the DGA and direct my own scripts on the side, but until that time comes... Got questions? Comments? Complaints? A project you want me to AD? (I'm cheap!)
